AME secured a multi-year Landscaping/Reforestation project as a result of the expansive new 4.7 mile conveyor belt project which is now underway after more than a decade of planning. The conveyor belt, which will be the only one of its kind ever built, will be primarily constructed above ground and with an enclosure to reduce dust and noise levels. Approximately 1.5-1.8 miles of the belt will be below ground where it crosses roads or railways. Lehigh is mitigating the visual impact of the system by extensive landscaping in multiple locations.
