The year was 2002. Jeff Schwartz had a strong background in the landscape industry \u2014 and big ideas for the future. At first, the team focused on specialized tree care, environmental mitigation and residential projects. But soon the staff, equipment and projects would rapidly increase. To accommodate that growth \u2014 and maintain easy access to multiple markets \u2014 the company acquired the historic Rice Manor property in Ashton, Maryland. In addition to inspiring the company\u2019s name, the property provided room for more office space, mechanic shop facilities, recycling bins, and irrigated holding areas \u2014 as well as for 100 trucks.<\/p>\n
