AME History

It began with one big truck and three good men.

The year was 2002. Jeff Schwartz had a strong background in the landscape industry — and big ideas for the future. At first, the team focused on specialized tree care, environmental mitigation and residential projects. But soon the staff, equipment and projects would rapidly increase. To accommodate that growth — and maintain easy access to multiple markets — the company acquired the historic Rice Manor property in Ashton, Maryland. In addition to inspiring the company’s name, the property provided room for more office space, mechanic shop facilities, recycling bins, and irrigated holding areas — as well as for 100 trucks.

Twenty years later, many of the company’s first clients and first employees are still with AME.
