AME History

Possessing a strong educational and work related background in the Landscape Industry, Jeff Schwartz founded the company in 2002. Initially, the company mobilized with a single F350 truck and a crew of 3 men. The company’s work base included specialized tree care services, environmental mitigation work, and residential landscape projects.

Jeff soon grew the company to over 20 year-round employees, over a dozen trucks, and numerous pieces of specialized landscape equipment. Jeff hired Eric DuBois as the Vice-President of Operations in March 2008 to expand further in to the commercial markets and help manage daily operations. The company continued to expand and hire numerous key positions as they maintained steady growth.

Over the next couple years, Jeff strategized to locate the company to a permanent home base with the best access to the markets being served. In January 2010, the historic Rice Manor property in Ashton, Maryland was acquired and the company relocated its operation. The new facility included expanded office space, mechanic shop facilities, recycling bins, and irrigated holding areas for nursery stock. The property became the inspiration for the name Ashton Manor Environmental.

Today, Ashton Manor Environmental continues to serve their clients with their core values of quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Many of the company’s first clients are still choosing Ashton Manor Environmental over a decade later.
